Excessive hair loss - Hypo or Hyper thyroid? Antidepressants?

Hello. As someone who has lost almost all her hair from thyroid disease, i can totally relate to your story. The first thing you need to do is get some blood work done. A full thyroid panel, which includes TSH, T3, T4, and an Antibodies test, a full cbc ( complete blood count ), iron, vitamins and minerals, blood sugar, bottom line, pretty much everything. My guess, is your hair loss is thyroid related. The anti-depressants definitely could have made it worse, along with the stress. It's best to rule out medical causes first, so that if you need treatment, you can start it as soon as possible. I know all about crying in the shower. Taking a shower has become a nightmare for me. I lose clumps of hair everyday. I figure in about 4 to 6 more months, i will be completely bald. It's the most devastating thing that has ever happened to me, and i've been suicidal for the last year because of it. I no longer leave my house, because i'm so embarred by the way i look. So go get your tests, and try to find out what's going on with you. If the tamper seal was intact, it was probably mishandled during shipping/recieving. Someone may have left it in a hot place to allow the egg, water, and oil in the mayonnaise to separate. It could have been a jar that was placed back on the shelf AFTER someone else bought it, left it in a hot vehicle, and returned it to the store. I HOPE that's not what happened, as the store should have disposed of it and recorded it as a damaged product. It happens, and I would have returned it as well.

I got a rusty fish hook stuck in my gum. what should i do?

I was trying to solder rusty fish hooks the big octopus ones to my radio so if anyone broke into my jeep and stole it they would get stuck. Well i had coated them all in paint stripper and i was installing it and one broke off and i was like, i guess ill use my mouth to hole it, like you would nails when ur nailing something. well i was chewing gum and i some how bit onto the hook and i shoved the hook quite far into my bottom gum. It stung really bad and i managed to get it out, but it was rusty and covered in paint stripper. It still hurts quite a lot and stings more than anything. 11 week old kitten. What other shots does he need besides these....?

We live on the third story of an apartment so he never never never goes outside and neither does the other. He has been tested for feline AIDS and leukemia. He has one deworming treatment. I started playing the flute in 5th grade...At that time I knew nothing about flutes, and well... my dad got me a suzuki...I didn't quite like it..and yeah I'll admit it, I ended up using my friend's in 7th grade because she switch to french horn... But then I got a scholarship lessons and during those lessons my teacher found out that my friend's flute had leaks.. it ruined me! (Her flute is jean baptist by the way!) Problems with the newly released generic Adderall XR?

I'm prescribed to 30mg of Adderall XR and today I went to pick up my new prescription. The pharmacist told me they had filled it with the newly released generic Adderall XR and it was $20 cheaper so I said sure why not. However, much to my disliking this generic form seemed to take longer to kick in, had much less of an effect, and gave me a "crash" about 3 or 4 hours after taking it. I literally felt like I needed to take a nap as if I had consumed an energy drink and was getting hit with the crash. Overall terrible experience. Definitely not going with the generic form next time. Anyone else having problems with or notice a substantial difference between the traditional Adderall XR and the new generic one?

Dealing with ignorance, and arrogance?

I lived with and dated a girl who worked as a manager for a child entertainment center(Kind of Like Chuck "E" Cheeses) for 2 years. She pretty much was a slave for her job working 7 days a week, and even if she did have a day off she still somehow incorporated working on that day off. Pretty much her life consisted of working, getting her nails/hair done with her best friend, smoking cigarettes, and hanging out at the mall. Not much else to the lifestyle. Anyways her co-workers, boss, her mother, and best friend bashed me and kept egging her on to get rid of me. Also, these people always tried to be very competitive to out do me, put me down, or make themselves feel better. One thing led to another, she cheated on me with a co-worker, and also another guy friend and dropped me. I had to move out as I was not going to live with somebody who disrespected and rejected me. All the while trying to make it look like her friends and herself were better than me. Keep in mind this ex girlfriend does not have a college education, can't pay her bills, and constantly complains to her mother everyday on the phone. Myself I'm college educated, was making better money than her, and always treated people how I always wanted to be treated. Thats not to say I am perfect, or better than her or am arrogant. I feel as though they underestimated me, and had to put me down constantly to make themselves feel better or important. I don't know why or how somebody who manages a glorified daycare center can feel like she is Donald Trump or Meg Whitman of Ebay. Anyways since then I went back to school to get a graduate degree, and switched to a career that was more skilled, pays better, and more glamorous. I also don't really see what this guy who she left me for has over me. He's 30, rides a Harley, has his nose pierced, has tatoos all over his body, has a drinking problem, and works for the gas company as a laborer. Again I'm not saying I am better than him, but I know I am of a cleaner caliber than he. I guess my question is, how do you deal with people who try to put you down, try to out do you, and make you feel inferior to them when really they aren't any better than you?

I've been on Effexor XR 75 MG for about 3-4 years - I want off of it and have cut it down to 37.5 MG the last couple of days - it's going ok - I've been through it before - I look to stop taking it completely within a week or so. I want to know how long before it is out of my system (blood) and will no longer show up on a blood test. I know it stays in your brain for a bit - but how long before it's out of your blood completely? Need to put her in a humid room. You can even run hot water in shower and let the bathroom steam up and put her in there(the bathroom not the shower). Sometimes the moisture will help p the egg. If you can see the egg in the vent area you can try to help lubricate the area by wetting a q-tip in mineral oil and rubbing around the vent. Just be careful not to break the egg. Make sure she is nice and warm. make sure she has much calcium at this point. Cuttle bones, crushed oyster shell. You may even have to try to hand feed her as she is weak at this point. Best bet would be a vet at this point. There are vets that are open 24/7 and sometimes they will see bird if avian vet is on board. Good luck. Put food and water close to her as sometimes they are to weak to get to it. Calcium is the key here.

Mix about 1 ounce of the jojoba oil with 3-5 drops of the lavender, castor and tea tree oils. If you are trying to go natural you can get rid of the wrapping lotion or spray because you will no longer have any use for that (if your gonna do a big chop). You should also throw away the BB hair grease which is really heavy and will clog your pores with the heavy petrolatum (which is probably the main ingredient). With clogged pores your scalp can not breath and that may cause your hair to grow at a slower rate. Also you should realize that going natural does not mean that your hair will grow faster or longer than it is already growing. As a matter of fact it may seem as if it isn't growing much because of the shrinkage with your curls.You just won't see nearly as much breakage or shedding, therefore you'll retain most of your hair growth. Most people go natural for their own personal benefit, to improve the health of their hair or to save time and money spent at the salon. As far as styles you could wear cornrows, micro braids, two strand twists, or flat twists (later take those out and wear a twist out). While you are growing your hair out you dont have to wear natural styles. You could still blow dry your hair with a comb attachment, then flat iron with a different flat iron. You could find a a decent flat iron at walmart for $20. Once you get alot of new growth it will be much harder for you to wear it straight though. Since your hair is really dry and damaged you may want to* think about doing a big chop if your mom will let you OR when you get trims just have them trim it a little more than they normally would to speed up the process. I think it's easier to do the BC beecause you won't have to deal with to types of hair and making the curly hair straight or getting the straight hair to look right in a natural style. Also you really can see progress when you BC, from a small fro, to ear length, to shoulder length, etc. The best thing about going natural is you get to test your hair, play with it a little and see what works for it. Most natural styles you can do yourself at home, like two strand twists, therefore decreasing the amount of money you have to spend at the salon. And I also think that your hair stylist is being really trifling and shady for not wanting to tell you how to take care of your hair and which products to use. She should be aiming to get your hair to it's healthiest state period, not just when she is the one doing it. You should ask her how to take care of it at home, where you can buy the products, or if you can buy some from her. If she still doesn't want to tell you then look at them when she walks away or is taking care of another client.

I mean every one is different so I could be wrong, but I have never heard or read anything like that. That said though, don't worry about your fever effecting your BBT...it happens...just take that into consideration when looking at your chart, discard those extremely high temps, since you are past Ovulation it doesn't really matter! I have a neighbor like that. They have called animal control on my animals running loose after they let them out, called the police and tried to make a noise complaint because me and my 2 kids were playing in the front yard at 4 in the afternoon. This is how I have dealt with it an it has worked. I simply ignored all the lies and rumors. I lived my life and treated the rest of the neighbors exactly the way I did before it started. The rest of the neighbors realized that the crazy neighbor was indeed crazy and I am still the person I always was. What has happened to my contented baby?

The same thing happened my now 8 week old. It seems to have peaked at 6 weeks - crying, grunting, general fussiness and is lessening slightly each week. Their little tummys are immature and find it hard to digest the food so the only way they can react is by crying / grunting. I find when my son does this the only thing that helps is rubbing his tummy in a clockwise motion 5 times then bringing his legs up to his chest and this sometimes releases the trapped wind. Just make sure you wind her 2 - 3 time throughout the feed and give her a good winding afterwards. I find gripe water also alleviates his pain.If nothing seems to alleviate her discomfort just give her lots of cuddles and know that as the weeks go by her digestive system will be gradually maturing and you should see less of this behaviour . Lots of luck with your little one.

Neuromuscular dentistry, TMJ disorder, and the TENS unit.. help!?

TENS is a common modality used to help relax muscles to relieve TMJ induced myospasms but it does not take one session to accomplish that and it is usually done prior to delivery of an orthotic. A true neuromuscular dentist will have instrumentation that can show you which muscles are in spasm and to what degree. You can self diagnose yourself for TMJ by inserting your pinkies into your ear cs with the soft portion forward and opening wide and closing (without banging your teeth). If you feel clicking then you have a TMJ disorder. Most dentists who treat TMJ will check for clicking or popping first and then do a comprehensive TMJ exam. If a TMJ disorder is present then the first thing to do would be to make a properly designed splint (aka orthotic) to wear. Only after this is done should TENS or any other electro physiotherapy be done (Hi volt EGS, for example). The only true way to determine whether all the symptoms you have listed are due to a TMJ problem is to construct a properly designed orthotic to wear. Those symptoms that are directly related to your TMJ should be either eliminated or significantly alleviated within the first week or two at the most. I have never heard of TENS or any modality providing instant relief. Trigger points within muscles (the cause of all the pain) are difficult to treat and require many sessions so it is extremely rare to have anything resolve muscle spasms that quickly. There is something "not right" in what your NM dentist told you. The professionals you need to consult are cranio-sacral therapists, physiotherapists trained in TMJ pain treatment, chiropractors with specialized training in TMJ pain, and dentists who know how to treat TMJ. Do not go to physicians, oral surgeons, and traditional orthodontists. You go to an ENT and eye doctor only to rule out any medical problem and not for treatment. If you do have a TMJ disorder, you will be wasting your time going to a physiotherapist initially because you need to treat the cause first and then the symptoms. A dentist who knows how to treat TMJ (preferably one who knows functional orthodontics) is the FIRST professional to go to. Then all the other specialties will serve to hasten elimination of the pain and other symptoms. Check this website out to see if there is someone else who can help: www.iaortho.org. BTW, Cl III jaws normally do not cause TMJ disorders. I would recommend a cephalometric ysis be done to see what skeletal jaw clification you are. An extremely deep skeletal overbite can give the illusion of a Cl III relationship because overclosure of the mandible causes the lower jaw to protrude. Deep overbites are a very common cause of TMJ disorders.

I just finished reading the last HP book. I'm not even going to go into the major problems of the book but I just can't get over how Snape died. Why in the world would he die like that? I had a convo w/ the head of the DH schhool Im attending about this same subject a few weeks ago. Her advice was to pursue the Hygiene degree (AAS) and if you like, to work PT (or FT) and complete a bachelors in any science field. Then apply to a Dental school. You will have a "leg up" on the competition for dental school because as a hygienist you have dental exeperience. This helps with admissions as well as with ping some of your cles. While in dental school you may want to work PT (maybe 1 or 2 days) a week to sustain a small income while you attend school. Good Luck.

college is not an easy answer. I know in high school I got about the same GPA as you do now. I could never motivate myself to do better. Now I am in college with a 3.79 GPA. I have learned that maybe it is not your time to be in college. Maybe you need to take a small break to ess your situation and see if now is a good time for you. I love to learn myself but if I am not doing what needs to be done then I realize that I need to ess other options until I am ready. I am not saying drop out, I am saying learn more about yourself. Maybe Anthropology is not the right field, maybe now isn't the right time so return when it is and look into what is best for you. Life gives you an extra edge when you do things at the right time and place

Schools can monitor anything and everything that happens on their computers. HOWEVER most websites such as yahoo mail, gmail etc. are blocked because the school has no control over what is sent and recieved through those. So since yahoo support group is a 3d party website, i would think it is unlikly that that they will be able to read what you said, unless an admin actually takes the time to make an accout on his own time to see what you posted.
