How do you know wether to give up or wait?

my ex. girlfriend and i are good friends she has told me she loves me and misses me and all that and she gave me a hug and kiss today but she has said she just wants to be friends rite now and is trying to make it like we need to get to know each other better and rite now we cant see eachother but im worried because theres a male friend of hers that im positive likes her and hes around her well I thought all the time but she claims no and she says there just friends and she just gos out with him to get out the house is what i understand and i really cant see her with this guy he is homely lookin and is a ****** loser but im not sure I really dont think she would say she loves me and kiss me and all if she was with him the only thing i can figure is that she may be making it like there toigether and all so that she can get out the house because her parents like him you see me and her were together for 2 years and we ended up breaking up because of the guy im worried about you see she was starting to get mad at me and started talking to him about it and he was all hitting on her and **** and i saw it well i kinda saw it some of it was just me not liking him and we got into fights over it then one day it just went to far and **** happened then we broke up we were kinda on and off and supposibly this guy was gone but then he ends up working for her father and now they hangout im so figgin confused on what to do it seems to me that she wants to be with me and all that but im so ****** tired of this guy being around and i dont understand why she wouldnt try to make this work
