Why did my Ipod touch go back to alaska?

I ordered and ipod touch on Wednesday it said it would be here by Tuesday so I am not worried yet. However on fedex tracking it went from china to hong kong to Anchorage. at Anchorage it stayed a day or two for customs and then it said it was released from customs. this morning it said it was in Newark NJ which is cool because I live in PA. I checked back now and it says it arrived in anchorage. Is there a mistype with the tracking or did it really go from Alaska to New jersey and then back to Alaska?
