When writing your memoir, do you have to write detail about everything....?

Write about what you feel are the most important and interesting parts of your life. Those parts you should write about in detail. The less influential parts should be kept to a succinct summary. Otherwise, it will merely be a self indulgence and you'll lose your readers interest.
